Worship Service: Finding Our Way

In-person and via Zoom

Led by the worship team with special guest Vincent Mousseau

Vincent Mousseau, who was a member of our community, now lives in Halifax. They join us this Sunday to share reflections on the importance of connecting with emotion, culture, and spirituality as essential to maintaining one's mental health.

Vincent Mousseau is a registered social worker, Vanier Scholar, community organizer, and activist based in Kjipuktuk, Mi'kma'ki (Halifax, NS), the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq. They operate mainly through a humanistic, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and Afrocentric lens that is rooted in sex positivity and harm reduction. In addition to their therapeutic practice, they are also a PhD student at the Dalhousie University Faculty of Health. Their current research focuses on how the intersection of anti-Black racism and homophobia acts as a barrier to health and social service access for Black gay, bi, trans and queer men and non-binary people in Canada. At the core of their work is a deep love for and solidarity with their communities.
