Into this world we are born,
the rush of planets in our blood,
a spark of possibility
that begins with the capacity to love,
and the need to be loved.
Life unfolds,
our paths twist and divide,
we make choices,
we declare love and lose love,
we mark milestones
of both joy and sorrow,
we try to understand the foundations
of who we are,
and the fate we seem to
have been handed.
Beyond viruses and isolation,
loneliness can surround us
or lurk at the edges of our lives,
the words that go unspoken
the valentines that never arrive,
the heartaches that remain hidden.
If we could only feel the love
that is the universe,
the star stuff that runs through all of us,
from the beginning to the end,
the beloved community
that already exists in visions and in dreams,
that waits to be built,
that calls us home
to the universal love
that offers all possibilities,
and asks for nothing in return.
This is the blessing that is yours,
that is mind, that is ours,
in the giving and the receiving
of creating community together.
Amen.
